CTO Breakfast and Facebook Developers Garage

Next Tuesday the 30th has two events, the CTO Breakfast at Novell in Provo that morning and that evening is the second Facebook Developers Garage at Noah’s in Lindon.

I’m planning on attending both events, if you’ll be at one or the other be sure to say hi.

Facebook Datastore API

Don’t let it be said that Facebook is standing still after all the attention it has been getting for their application platform. They’ve provided some documentation to a new feature, Facebook Data Store. There is some analysis of this new API over at snarfed.org.

I’m not really much a Facebook user, but I’m getting curious about what they are working on right now that we don’t know about.

I better find some other things to write about, I don’t want this turn into the all Facebook channel.

Utah Facebook Developers Garage August Meeting

I was late (Google Maps wasn’t even close), but managed to find my way to Noah’s for the first Utah Facebook Developers Garage.

This was fun, it was my first tech outing since moving to Utah. It’s good to get out from coding in the home office for some face to face interaction. :-)

Kudos to Phil Burns for organizing this and Twelve Horses sponsoring the location.

UPDATE Fri 10 Aug 2007 @ 11:00am : A couple of people asked about the slides being online, so I signed up for an account at slideshare.net and uploaded the PDF version exported out of Keynote. The slides don’t have a lot of detail and there was a lot of discussion, but here they are for those who missed it: FBML slides.

WordPress and FaceBook

This morning the WordPress.com FaceBook Application was announced. This was in interesting project to work on, I learned a lot more about the WordPress.com code and a whole lot more about the FaceBook Platform. For that matter I learned a whole lot more about FaceBook period.

Don’t be surprised if you see more FaceBook centered posts here :-)

I think there is a lot of potential with the combined features of WordPress and FaceBook.
