This morning Mark Fletcher announced that he was leaving Bloglines. To his credit he did stay with Bloglines for more than a year after their Askquisition.

Bloglines has resisted adding an XML-RPC ping interface in favor of simply polling feeds for updates. That has finally changed with the announcement of a new ping interface. You can find the details on the API documentation page under the Ping API section.
This is sad, Bloglines has been offline since early this morning. No word yet on what has happened, I just hope it gets fixed soon.

Ug, just when I was preparing to write something positive about Bloglines, they have messed up my sorting. There doesn’t appear to be any way to change it back either. I tried resorting my list, but it didn’t do anything. I’m hoping this gets fixed soon, as it stands now it is bad enough for me to look for another option.
UPDATE 6:17pm 9 Jan 2006: The ability to resort seems to have been fixed/restored.
