That is a little bit misleading. It is 15% faster from PHP 5.2 to PHP 5.3. If someone is on PHP4, then it will be many times faster than just 15%.

For a long time PHP5 was slower than PHP4, from what I hear with 5.3 (possibly 5.2?) that’s no longer the case. It would be interesting to see what the numbers look like for PHP4 versus PHP5 when 5.3 comes out.
