Inknoise has a spiffy little tool to generate a CSS based page layout after you provide it with a couple of options. It will generate full , two column (left or right sidebar) and three column layout styles. You can specify the width and padding for the container (main area) and side columns. Pretty slick.
If you are just starting out on a page design this may save you some time and frustration.
