PostgreSQL rocks!: I agree. If you want to see really fast insert times use COPY, it is simply amazing.

Postgresql vs. MySQL – a subjective view: A follow on to the ‘PostgreSQL rocks!’ above. Of the three points mentions for MySQL I would say the third is the only significant one, MySQL replication is much easier to setup than PostgreSQL. That may be a result of MySQL having fewer features though (there by making it easier to replicate).
